Counselling is typically short term and is focused on identifying and implementing solutions to a current issue or problem you are experiencing.

Length of time may be anywhere between 3 - 8 sessions or more. Sometimes all that you may require is 1 - 2 sessions, and this is often more of a check in “am I doing ok?”.

There are times in life when we need to check in with a professional to get some clarity and direction.

Coaching Supervision

COACHING & SUPERVISION

Coaching involves working towards specific work and life goals. Here we explore and identify where you want to be, and what steps you take to achieve that goal. It is action oriented. Along the way it may mean identifying and dealing with roadblocks, and continuing on towards your ultimate goal.

Supervision is another form of coaching and mentoring an individual around their work practices and client cases. It is a safe (or needs to be a safe place!) where you can personally reflect on your cases and what you as the professional bring. It is also a place where you can be accountable for your work as you work closely with people.

Professional supervision is also a requirement for registration for psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and Counsellors.

Coaching Supervision is the avenue by which anyone who wants to develop themselves in any workplace environment, to learn how to address the challenges that their role requires of them, and to improve their skills and longevity - can do this.

This may be the best thing you do for yourself and your work life.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Therapy or psychotherapy is a longer term work using a psychodynamic approach. Here we can focus more deeply on long standing core beliefs about self and the world around you, that drive your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Through this process you will use the skill of personal reflection and self-knowledge to understand yourself better, your unconscious triggers and impulses. We may explore and identify the scripts that you live by, making sense of those, and helping you to re-write your script, and no longer allow those things you can change direct your life.

Therefore providing you the opportunity to overcome the effects of negative thoughts and behaviours and live a more functional life, one that can be richer, authentic, and freeing.
